Join award-winning quilt artist Cookie Washington as she guides Batik Members through the creation of a stunning Faux Cathedral Window quilt featuring meaningful Adinkra symbols and vibrant African-inspired fabrics. This unique quilt combines the timeless elegance of the Cathedral Window design with modern quilting techniques, making it approachable for confident beginners and experienced quilters alike.

Unlike traditional Cathedral Window quilts that require extensive folding and hand stitching, the Faux Cathedral Window method creates the same dimensional window effect using quilt-as-you-go techniques, allowing you to achieve a striking result with less bulk and fewer steps.

Throughout this quilt-along, you'll create 9 beautiful Cathedral Window blocks showcasing Adinkra symbols that celebrate African heritage, wisdom, strength, and storytelling.

Your Faux Cathedral Window Quilt Kit Includes:

• 3 yards of African print
• 1.5 yards of fabric for sashing
• 1 yard of Ivory Cotton Fabric for background
• 1/2 yard of black cotton fabric for applique symbols
• 3 yards of African print for backing
• Faux Cathedral Window Quilt Pattern
  

All fabrics are thoughtfully selected to create a quilt that is both culturally meaningful and visually stunning.

• Basic sewing and quilting supplies
• Rotary cutter and cutting mat
• Quilting ruler
• Iron and ironing board
• Fabric scissors
• Sewing machine
• Neutral Superior Threads (recommended: Neutral Collection Box of 6)

Finished Project
