 From her early days watching her mother transform fabric into beautiful garments, Cecily Habimana developed a lifelong love for sewing. Today, she stands as the proud co-owner of Sew Creative Lounge in Lanham, Maryland, a hub where both children and adults can learn the art of sewing. Alongside her business partner Tisha Thorne, Cecily has cultivated a vibrant community, offering nationwide memberships for avid sewers and quilters.

Her contributions to the sewing community have garnered attention from numerous media outlets. She has been spotlighted in renowned publications like The Washington Post, Washington Express, the American Express website, and Chicago Tribune. Additionally, Cecily's insights and experiences have been shared on platforms like Fox 5 News, Voice of America, DC News Now and NPR. An alumna of Howard University with a bachelor's degree and George Washington University with an MBA, Cecily has also been recognized with the TSP Six Figure Success Award in 2022 and TSP Circle of Seven Award in 2023.

Beyond her business endeavors, Cecily serves as a commissioner for the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. At home, she resides in Washington DC, sharing her life with her husband and their two children.
