Sew Creative Lounge Studio Policies
To ensure a welcoming, respectful, and productive learning environment for everyone, please review the following studio policies before registering for a class.
Arrival Time
Classes begin promptly at the scheduled start time. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time to set up your sewing space and prepare for class.
Class Registration, Transfers & Credits
All class registrations are non-refundable.
If you cancel at least one week prior to the start of class, you may receive a credit toward a future class by emailing customercare@sewcreativelounge.com.
Class registrations may be transferred up to two times. After the second transfer, the registration fee will be forfeited.
Private Lessons
Private lessons may be rescheduled up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson using our online scheduling system.
Cancellations within 48 hours of the lesson or no-shows will result in forfeiture of the lesson fee.
Class Cancellations by Sew Creative Lounge
Sew Creative Lounge reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment.
A minimum of four students is required for a class to run.
If a class is cancelled by Sew Creative Lounge, registered students may choose to:

Transfer to a future class, or
-
Receive a full refund.
Guests and Children
Children or guests may not accompany you to class unless they are registered participants.
Sip & Sew DC Age Requirement
Participants in Sip & Sew DC events must be 21 years of age or older.
Supplies
Supply lists are available upon registration. If a supply list is not available at the time of registration, it will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
Missed Classes
There are no make-up classes.
However, students may register for Open Studio sessions to continue working on projects from a class.
Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather, Sew Creative Lounge will announce closures via email. You may also contact the studio at 301-779-9000 for updates.
Photography & Video Release
By registering for a class, you grant Sew Creative Lounge permission to photograph or video you or your child during participation in classes or events.
These photos or videos may be used for promotional purposes including, but not limited to:

Print materials

Website content
-
Social media
Sip & Sew DC Materials
For Sip & Sew DC classes, Sew Creative Lounge provides fabric for your project only. Any scrap fabric remains the property of Sew Creative Lounge.
Studio Conduct & Respect Policy (Zero Tolerance)
Sew Creative Lounge is committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and respectful learning environment for all students, instructors, and staff.
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to:

Foul, abusive, or offensive language

Insults, harassment, or disrespect toward staff or other students

Threatening behavior or intimidation
-
Any form of physical aggression, physical harm, or attempts to harm another student, instructor, or staff member
-
Disruptive behavior that interferes with the learning environment
Any individual who engages in the behaviors listed above may be asked to leave the class or event immediately.
In these situations:

No refund or credit will be issued

Sew Creative Lounge reserves the right to refuse future registrations or participation in studio activities
Our goal is to foster a community built on creativity, learning, kindness, and mutual respect, and we expect all participants to contribute to that environment.
