Freedom Quilt Along Box 3
Join us for Sew Creative Lounge’s Quiltalong project. During this Quiltalong, you will learn how to make three quilt blocks:
- Bear Paw
These three quilt blocks were used during slavery to help the enslaved to escape. Each block was used to give directions for the Underground Railroad. For instance, the sail boat symbolized that there was a body of water nearby. Cross roads block symbolized that there was a town ahead. The Bow Tie symbol indicated that it was necessary to travel in disguise or to change from the clothing of a slave to those of a person of higher status.
In this Quilt Box, you will receive:
African Print Fat Quarter Bundle (10 pack)
5 half yard pieces of cotton blender fabrics
2 yards of African Print fabric (backing)
Black Bias Binding
In addition, you will have access to three instructional videos on each of the quilt blocks.
